I vow, here and now
to never act like a ditz,
or be perceived as one.
To never try to be
anyone but myself.
To never attempt
to hide my own beauty.
i won't be conceited or
hollow or shameless.
I won't ever tell myself
I am better than someone else
because I am not.
I'll never succumb to the
pressures of adolescence
or be forced into anything.
I will never let anyone tell me
my dreams are impossible
or unreal or egotistical.
I don't have to hear what
i don't want to.
I won't strive for popularity
or follow in someone else's
footsteps.
I will never use my body
as a weapon or be closed
minded about anything.
If I let new experiences in,
I can accept and try to
understand.
I won't be fake or try
to talk lightly out of
aggravating situations.
I can take it.
I am strong.
I am important.
I am me.
That is why I am still standing.
